The Teal Pumpkin Project began in 2012 and was headed by the director of FACET, a Tennessee-based food allergy group. This organization recognizes that children with food allergies are unable to participate in many traditional Halloween festivities, like trick-or-treating, because they might have a dangerous or life-threatening reaction if they\u2019re exposed to ingredients that trigger an inflammatory response in their systems.
