Teething rings come in all shapes and sizes, and they are made from a variety of materials. The ones that are liquid-filled seem to provide the most relief. Cold Foods<\/h2>\n

You may also want to try offering large chunks of carrot, apple or other hard fruits and vegetables for your baby to gnaw on. If you do, be sure to carefully watch your baby to make sure they don\u2019t bite off a piece that might cause choking.<\/p>\n

Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen<\/h2>\n

When nothing else will work, these over-the-counter pain relievers can help relieve your baby\u2019s discomfort and pain. A word of caution: ask your pediatrician first. Both acetaminophen and ibuprofen should have a doctor\u2019s approval before being given to a child who is not yet a year old.<\/p>\n

What about Drooling?<\/h2>\n

The first indication that your baby is starting to teeth may be increased drooling. This will likely continue throughout the time that they are teething. Excessive drooling can begin to irritate your baby\u2019s chin, neck and chest if left to air-dry all of the time. Have a soft cloth nearby so you can gently dab away saliva.<\/p>\n
