Not only can your plan provide low-cost preventive services, but it may also reduce the financial strain of moments when your child’s smile requires a bit of restorative care. MetLife Coverage Availability & Fees
MetLife offers a number of dental plans, and it is important to note that they vary vastly in their details. That is why we encourage you to take a close look at your unique policy to learn more about how it works and the benefits it provides.
In the meantime, here is some general information about the coverage that is often available through MetLife PPO plans:
- Preventive care tends to be 100% covered. This includes cleanings, exams, routine X-rays, and fluoride treatments.
- Basic services are often up to 80% covered. Fillings usually fall into this category.
- Major services are typically 50% covered. Crowns and other more complex services are often classified as major.
Please note as well that not all MetLife plans cover all services. You may also be subject to a deductible, a waiting period before certain benefits kick in, and an annual maximum (a yearly limit on the amount MetLife will pay for approved services).
Our team is in-network with MetLife, so we are in a perfect position to help you get the most out of your plan. For example, we have a contract with MetLife that manages fees; this means you may be able to get more value out of your annual maximum, as opposed to visiting an out-of-network provider. If your child needs a major treatment, we might even be able to split it up between calendar years so you can use two annual maximums rather than one.
